Gai nods and follows behind them head hung low, years like waterfalls running down his cheeks. “This is all my fault. I overwhelmed him with alcohol. But mostly my glorious physique. GOMENASAI KAKASHI!!!” He cries suddenly and runs out into th village to do 400 laps around the village on his hands as punishment.

“TO THE HOSPITAL!”

Gai barrels through the crowd at breakneck speeds leaving only a rising plume of dust and an irritated, coughing bunch. He skids to a stop in front of the hospital and shifts Kakashi on his back. “Don’t speak, Kakashi, save your breath for when they save your life!” He rushes into the hospital and plops Kakashi on a passing gurney, eliciting a surprised gasp from the unsuspecting nurse. The spandex clad shinobi exhaled a breath and turned to the nurse desperately. “YOU HAVE TO FIX HIM.”

Gai chuckles heartily before a glimmer crosses his eyes. He takes a few steps back and points at Kakashi. “You’re challenging me to a drinking contest, aren’t you!? HAHA, PREPARE YOURSELF, KAKASHI, I WILL KEEP MY TITLE AS REIGNING CHAMP. NO ONE CAN BEST MAAAAIITOO GAIII!” He calls, making a beeline to the kitchen and unceremoniously dumping all the alcohol he could find onto the table.
“No, no, no! That’s not what I’m doing!” Kakashi interjects hastening after Gai into the kitchen only to find that he is already started pulling out the stops. “…that’s a lot of alcohol. That’s a whole lot of alcohol.” The thought of having all of that oblivion inducing bliss to placate him fills his head with schemes. “I have a better idea.”
“Ideas…?” he tilts his head quizzically, before a light bulb pops above his head. “Shot girl?”
“Put it away!”
Gai blinks at Kakashi suddenly on the floor. “Rival!?! Are you dead!? QUICK. LOOK AT ME.” he shakes Kakashi vigorously by the shoulders.
Kakashi’s body shakes lifelessly in Gai’s arms. “Can’t………look.” he wheezes. “Eyes…….broken…..So this……is how I die…”
